The process is still chugging along for us, we've had a couple more meetings with our SW, all of which very laid back, its great how natural we both feel with her. Last week we had our final day of training at our agency which was great, it was about 'Theraplay' and matching. I think Mr K got a lot out of the theraplay session, instead of learning about all the challenges and why they occur he was finally learning about how to deal with them, a toolbox of skills that could be really practically helpful in the future. For me all my learning came together and consolidated, a sort of 'lightbulb' moment about how everything I've learnt over the last few years to do with 'living in the moment' and mindfulness applies to helping our future child thrive (Mindfulness, PACE, therapeutic parenting etc is all essentially about bringing the child into the front part of the brain, the 'good' part where positive self esteem and healthy emotional development can happen)
It was interesting to hear where other adopters were in the process, a lot of people in our group had been making enquiries about children's profiles ahead of their panel. We are waiting until we are approved before we begin the matching process, in order to access more profiles I guess.
Our last Stage Two meeting with SW is next week, she is busy writing our PAR and said it's nearly done. I can't wait to read it!
